I Was Born In The Wrong Time Period

Sometimes I think I was born in the wrong time period.

Don’t get me wrong. I do love my car, social media, Netflix, and YouTube, but there is something about my parents’ stories that call my name. Stories of simpler times when people did what they wanted when they wanted.

I wish we lived in a time when we could all hang out with the people in our neighborhood, ride bikes across town, play baseball in the local park, and do whatever we want until the sun goes down.

Can you imagine how much fun that would be?

I constantly have an urge to do things such as these, but I find it difficult in this modern era. Maybe this is why I am drawn to different adventures around town.

I haven’t even mentioned how teenagers used to conduct themselves back in the day.

If you have been reading my posts for a while now you probably know how much I support the idea of not caring what people think about you. I wish that people nowadays conducted themselves similar to how people did in my parents’ generation. No one cared what other people thought. The majority of people lived life however they wanted to and didn’t waste time thinking about what others thought of them.

Oh what I would do to live in the 60s, 70s, or 80s.

I know this was short, but I just wanted to say it.

I wonder if you feel the same… or maybe it’s just me.

  1. Where memories and moments were kept personal instead of exploited in an instant for the world to see, and worries, though few, were placed on things greater than “likes.” Music was made chord by chord and movies were filmed on location. You stand in a crowd, far from alone in feeling out of place in this generation.
